Joel Richardson will debate Dr. Thomas Ice on Whether the Antichrist will be Islamic or European during the Mid-America Prophecy Conference. This is an opportunity for our entire ministry to join me in prayer that the truth of God’s Word is revealed during this Joel Richardson debate.
Many times we Christians spend our lives in our small apartments or homes wishing we could do significant things for Jesus, but we resign ourselves to insignificant roles. Nothing could be further from the truth of what God desires for us, however. We might not have been given the gift of evangelism or the platform of a Billy Graham, but our access to the Father that empowered Graham is identical to his.
The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit. (Jam. 5:16-18)
Jesus’s half-brother James instructs us that we have the same nature as the prophet Elijah whose prayer led to a 3.5 year drought. We are capable of great prayers as well.
Many on this website complain that the Church is asleep in regard to the end times. Many complain that the nation is asleep in regard to the threat of Islam. I challenge each and every one of us to do something about these issues. That something begins with prayer.
In the short (but excellent) devotional on prayer, “Why Pray,” by John Devries, the author gives the analogy that walking with God requires first taking a step with your right foot and then your left. The right foot symbolizes “prayer”, which must come first, and then the left foot symbolizes “action” which is empowered and directed by that prayer. Prayer should precede action.
Do you honestly believe Elijah did not pray prior to making this statement to King Ahab?
Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, surely there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.” (1 Kings 17:1)
Did Elijah risk his life making this statement before the King prior to prayer and then pray later asking God to bless his rash statement? Obviously not. Let us pray first, then act.
Joel Richardson Debate
During the Mid-America Prophecy Conference held August 4-6 of this year, Joel Richardson will debate Dr. Thomas Ice on whether the Antichrist will be Islamic or European. Along with the question of whether the Rapture will be Pre-Trib. or Pre-Wrath or Post-Trib., this is one of the most important prophetic questions facing the Church today.
If we are wrong about the ethnic identity of the Antichrist, we may misread prophetic events happening before our eyes.
You and I have the privilege to appeal to the King of the Universe in regard to this Joel Richardson debate and its outcome and impact. Let’s seek him for wisdom. Let’s seek him for impact from this debate, and let’s seek him for what he wants us to do personally about this issue.
The Gospel In The End Times Response
God has blessed our ministry with over 2.6 million visitors. Some articles have been viewed by over a hundred thousand. Together we are a vast group. And where two or more of us are gathered in his name, there Jesus is as well. If awakening the Church is our mission, our obligation is to all stand together as one on issues of importance and begin to seek the favor of our King.
So let’s pray together:
Our Father in Heaven, blessed be your Holy Name! May you be glorified by your servant Joel as he subjects himself to a difficult environment for the sake of that wonderful Name. You are the Truth, Lord. May this debate expose the truth found in your Word to all of us. May our hearts and minds be open to what you desire to teach us. Help us to all put aside our political opinions and preconceived notions and desire only your truth. May the darkness of deception flee and the light of your truth flood the minds of every single person that listens to this debate.
Lord, may your Kingdom come. May this debate result in the expansion of that Kingdom. May a multitude of listeners be moved by love for the Islamic people to reach out to them with the love of Jesus. May the Gospel of His Kingdom come to those peoples. May that Gospel be preached and may their spirits be moved by Your Holy Spirit to accept the free gift of salvation. May a great harvest result.
Lord, may your will be done. We are your body. Let us know as individuals and as a ministry what we are to do to advance truth and to advance your Kingdom. Give us wisdom, Lord, to know what to do, when to do it, and how to accomplish your will. Provide and empower each of us to accomplish the tasks you have placed before us. Open the hearts and minds of those we may reach out to such as pastors or those in the media. Prepare their spirits in advance for the testimony we give.
Give Joel perfect recall of those things in your Word that are important and critical in bringing forth the truth. Grant him peace that is supernatural. Provide his ministry with the resources to continue and expand his work for your Name.
Grant us all a spirit of humility and forgiveness. Despite insults that have been made in the past, cause us all to forgive and forget those things and press on for the prize that lies ahead. Allow a spirit of brotherhood to infuse this event as two Christians seek the truth and the body of Christ listens and reacts.
Cause us to avoid the temptation to view our own “positions” as correct and others as “wrong.” We realize your word tells us all of us are “sleeping” prior to your coming. Wake us all up!
Deliver us from the forces of the evil one who wants to prevent your truth from going forth. You tell us our struggle is not against flesh and blood. Lord restrict the powers and principalities from influencing the work you are about to do through all of us.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. (2 Cor. 10:3-5)
Bring every stronghold and every thought into captivity and make them obey Jesus. For yours is the Kingdom forever and the Power beyond all powers. May you receive all Glory from this debate and the work we will all do in your Name. Amen.
