Nelson has been a Bible teacher, songwriter and speaker for twenty years and administers the blog The Gospel in the End Times. He is co-author of the book The Gospel in the End Times with Mark Davidson (Daniel Revisited).

Many readers are familiar with Mark Davidson who developed the Signpost theory.  This theory is clearly articulated in the posts DECEPTION, WAR AND FAMINE  and CH- CH- CH- CHANGES on this site.  The following is guest blog by Mark himself.  This is a great blog about God’s provision through “pruning” us.  Please read all the way through it.   After Mark’s Blog there is an incredible “and now for the rest of the story” moment.

How the Signpost Message and Davidson Got Tied to the Shemitah

Truth, we find, is stranger than fiction. Some things that happen to us when in relationship with Christ no writer could make up. And I am amazed continually at what our God does in my life and in this world.

Modern Tower of Babel

Today many New Yorkers celebrated as One World Trade Center opened for business.  The new 1776 foot (symbolism intended) tower was built on the site of the former Twin Towers destroyed by Islamic terrorists on 9/11.   Many in this nation were relieved to finally have the scar of those attacks “rebuilt” and a chapter in New York’s history closed.

To me however, there is an eerie similarity between the new tallest building in the USA and an ancient tower.  These similarities make me think of it as a Modern Tower of Babel.

What About the Blood Moons?

This morning while I was walking my dog I was able to observe a blood moon.  This was the second of four blood moons to occur in 2014 – 2015.  These have become known as the Blood Moon Tetrad on popular prophecy sites and in books by Mark Blitz and John Hagee.

I can certainly see why the ancients would become spooked as the moon slowly turns red before your eyes.  Nowadays of course we realize that the red color is the result of the bending of light.  This same effect causes harvest moons and red sunsets.

The question on everyone’s mind this year is, “do these four blood moons all falling on Jewish feast days mean anything prophectic?”  If you read the books by Biltz and Hagee, they certainly believe they do.  I am unsure.  They might and they might not.  Let’s first look at why they might not have any significance.

When this ministry works to awaken the church we are working to prepare the way of the Lord. Many are familiar with the phrase as it appears in all four Gospels. It is attributed to John the Baptist as he was the one to go before Jesus and prepare Israel for their Messiah. Many may not be aware of it but the passages in the Gospels quote this passage from the Old Testament Book of Isaiah.

“Comfort, yes, comfort my people!” says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.” The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert a highway for our God.  Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” (Isa. 40: 1, 3, 5 NKJV)

What many also do not realize is that this famous prophecy has an initial fulfillment in the days of John the Baptist and a final fulfillment in our day!

We have all been called to be a servant of the Most High God. Generally when we are asked “So what do you do?” we respond saying, I’m a postman, I’m a physician I’m a housewife or I’m an aerospace engineer. It’s amazing how much of our personal identity is wrapped up in the tasks God allows us to perform for him every day. Our real identity and significance is found, of course, in our relationship to Christ.

Psalms 91 – Part 1

Psalms 91 and the Secret Place of the Most High have been a refuge for believers throughout the ages of the church. The Psalm promises God’s protection in times of trouble. Millions have gone there for strength and encouragement. Close examination of the words of this Psalm show it has special meaning for the Time of Jacob’s Trouble, the end-times. We referenced it in THE SIXTH SIGNPOST: THE ABOMINATION. There we discussed how it was a picture of God’s protection during the flight of the righteous in the great tribulation.
