Is There Forgiveness After Taking the Mark of the Beast?

If those in the church face the Antichrist, this will be an essential question? Spiritual life or death. Saints will need to know if there is forgiveness after taking the Mark of the Beast.

This video/article is the first in a series about why the rapture debate is important. This video also explains who taking The Mark may also be the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit explained by Jesus in Luke 12.

Is there forgiveness after taking the Mark of the Beast?

In the video, we discuss how scripture is clear that anyone who takes the Mark of the Beast will “falls away” and then be cast into hell.

If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. (Rev. 14:9-10)

Worshiping the Beast or taking his Mark is an unforgivable sin.  Why is this sin unforgivable? Simply because God’s Word says it is! We don’t have to understand why to have FAITH in what God’s Word says.

This particular Mark is different that any other false religions in the world today. It appears that the Tribulation has different rules. Today someone can worship a false god, repent, and be reconciled to God. But in the Tribulation, it appears that taking the mark of the beast will be a blasphemous act from which there is no return. Is it the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit? Luke 12 seems to indicate it is.

Those taking it will essentially be worshiping Satan and permanently rejecting God. God will then allow them to get what they asked for by being eternally separated from Him.

Those with saving faith will not worship the Beast or take his Mark. Those without it who have weak faith may take it rather than face starvation or martyrdom. That may be why Jesus calls the Great Tribulation the “time of testing for the whole world” (Rev. 3:10). It will not matter whether those taking the Mark said the sinner’s prayer at one point in their lives. They will be lost if they take the Mark. It is a test of whether or not someone has “saving faith.”

False Teaching on the Mark

So many in our pews are at risk. Yet this is not what we hear from many of our pulpits! John MacArthur was asked if a person could be forgiven after taking the Mark. Here is his answer:

“Now, the question is, if you’re living in the Tribulation period, and you take this mark, in other words, you identify with the beast’s empire, will you still be able to be redeemed? And I think the answer to that is yes. Yes! Otherwise there would be no salvation of anybody in the end of the Tribulation; and you’ve got to have the salvation of folks in the end of the Tribulation (Jews).” John MacArthur

Set-Up for Destruction

Can you see how many of our churches are setting up their flock for falling away?

  • They first tell them they will not face Antichrist. Don’t worry about it and don’t prepare.
  • They then tell them, if they happen to face Antichrist, they can take the Mark of the Beast as long as they repent in the end.

This combination of doctrines is like a witch’s brew preparing vast multitudes to fall away by worshiping Antichrist and then be cast into hell. And the responsibility falls on all of our shoulders. We have this time prior to the Tribulation to prepare those who have been deceived in this way.

  1. Nelson,

Based on your current understanding of Revelations, which year out the 7 years do you think the Mark of the Beast will be implemented and why?

    1. Afo, thanks for your question. The key is “according to my current understanding.” I have opinions on when the seals may open but it’s just an educated guess. According to Revelation Deciphered, the third seal (which is related to price fixing and famine) is set to open at Passover of the third year of the seven. Will the Mark be instituted before or after that? My best guess would be slightly after that seal opens.

  2. Rev 14:9-10 doesn’t say they will be tormented forever. Maybe it just means they go through the wrath of God for for the one year, ten day period at the end of the tribulation period. This fits well with the idea that the mark of the beast is already here in the headbands and armbands that Muslims wear that state their submission to Allah.

    1. John, Rev. 14:11 says “And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” So to me that is the lake of fire. Yes, tatoos similar to the those headbands may be the physical mark, but the spiritual mark is what is even more important, the denial of Jesus and worship of the Beast.

  3. Our life in the 21st century with all of its advancements and conveniences would be a form of heaven to those at the time of Jesus. It is therefore much more difficult for followers of Jesus in this age to voluntarily submit to persecution, torture, pain, suffering and even death, for the gift of everlasting life. The believers of today need to collectively call upon the Holy Spirit to strengthen our faith, hope, love so that we may not believe the Lie. Jesus knows the difficulty that we face. This is why he sends his Two Witnesses. They will be the warriors of the Word of God.

  4. MacArthur’s pre-tribulation end-times belief clouds his perspective of Rev 14 and thus the purpose & timing of Satan’s mark.

    1. Perhaps. I think it is a dramatic example of assuming you are right regardless of the consequences. This is the problem with the pretrib. position – not that they are wrong – but that they don’t provide for the safety of the flock in case they’re wrong. I spoke to a pastor the other day. He told me he believes in “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.” I said “Me too, how are you preparing?” Crickets. So folks say that but don’t act on it. That is what my mission is, to get people preparing. Part of that is letting them know that taking the Mark is an unforgivable sin.

      1. I AM created Man in his image and likeness. The image is our physical appearance. The likeness was a divine body, sinless, pure, immortal. He wanted man to love and worship Him freely, without coercion or fear or retribution. He gave man the earth to rule all living and non living things, as his domain, including the creation of the Woman as his soul mate. Man chose not to worship God and physically, mentally, deliberately expressed it publicly for all the world to see. God stripped man of his divine body and immortality, and shown now as naked, clothed in the rob of sin. Man is now marked by sin and the penalty is death. Sin is the original mark of the beast. The beast, satan, is the one who coerced Man & Woman away from God.

Taking the Mark of the Beast during the tribulation years is a permanent tattoo identifying oneself as chosing the clothe of Sin over the pure white rob given by God to those who believe on Jesus and choose to worship Him. The penalty of this choice of sin, the Mark, is eternal death existing in the Lake of Fire. Choosing the mark of the beast is proof certainty that the individual will never ask for forgiveness, because he/she chooses the Father of Sin over I AM. Therefore, it is banal to argue whether choosing the mark of the beast can be forgiven. IMHO
