Who are the 144,000?

Who are the 144,000? It’s a mysterious prophecy. Everyone has a different answer it seems. Yet, Scripture gives us just enough clues to solve it.

The followers of the Pretrib. Rapture theory believe the 144,000 are Jewish evangelists. The followers of the Post-Trib. Rapture theory believe the 144,000 are Christians or at least Messianic believers. The followers of the Prewrath theory for the most part believe the 144,000 are Unsaved Jews who are sealed to protect them from the Wrath of God.

Which is correct – Or all all of these ideas incorrect?

Watch and see for yourself.

This is the first in a series of videos about mysterious prophecies, who is the restrainer? who are the two witnesses? what are the 7 churches of Revelation?  what is Mystery Babylon, etc. We hope you are excited as we are about this new upcoming series.

  1. And another question, Nelson. Do you see a relation between the first fruits of Matt 27 :52-53 and the first fruits of the 144.000 ?

    1. Excellent question Dani-El. The Matt. 27 saints were part of the first fruits resurrection in the first century. Obviously the Rev. 14 saints aren’t those same individuals. I view them as first fruits of the main harvest resurrection in the end times.

  2. Thanks Nelson for this clear teaching. One more question. How do you interpret the follwoing quality of the 144000 : These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained Virgins?”Thank you

    1. When used in reference to believers this usually means pure to Christ. However, in this case the word parthenoi is used in connection with women. Sexual immorality is a major problem in the end times. So in my opinion this is what Jesus is talking about. Not defiled with internet porn or illicit relations. I suspect there will all sorts of sexual slavery, etc. under the Beast empire. I don’t think this means unmarried men, but who knows. Maybe it does.
