Every prophecy teacher has an opinion of what Daniel’s four beasts represent. Some consider them ancient kingdoms only, some consider them modern. What does the Bible say?
Revelation and Daniel both speak of a coming “Beast.” Who is the Beast? How will we recognize it and prepare to face it?
One of the most enigmatic passages in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream about the metal statue is what the ten toes of iron and clay symbolize. Readers to this blog have requested that I comment on this passage, so I thought I’d give you my opinion. Prophecy teachers Joel Richardson and Mark Davidson teach that the iron and clay of the toes represents Sunni and Shia Muslim factions. Some teach iron is Islam and clay is apostate Christianity. Others teach it is some sort of genetic mixing of angels and humans. I personally think all of these are less than completely accurate. Let’s look at Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and see what scripture says:
The Islamic Antichrist: Debunked by Chris White
Author Chris White has released a new book which challenges what is becoming the established view on the religion and ethnicity of the Antichrist. In this book Chris has added some amazing research on the basis for Islamic “holy” writings for which he is to be commended. Unfortunately his main premise is based on a number of misinterpretations of scripture. I highly endorse his section on Islamic eschatology but can’t endorse the book as a whole.
In our last post we examined heaven’s perspective of what will occur at the midpiont of the Tribulation. Satan will attempt to usurp God’s throne in Heaven. Michael the Archangel will stand up from his post restraining the Beast from the abyss to do war with Satan and his demons. Michael and the Heavenly Host will overcome Satan and throw him to the Earth. During this heavenly war, the Beast from the abyss will escape to the Earth and possess the Antichrist.
In this post we will discuss what three main events will happen on Earth. The Beast empowered Antichrist will invade Israel and capture Jerusalem, he will kill the Two Witnesses and then will sit in the Temple of God and proclaim himself to be God.

Time is like a merchant’s scale. Events pile up on the light end until the accumulated weight of them unbalances the scale. We have come to call this the “tipping point.” The seventieth week of Daniel, sometimes known as the “Tribulation,” is divided into two halves of forty two months each. Events at the midpoint of the Tribulation will tip the scale of world history. When this point is reached we will descend into a period of unspeakable horror known as the Great Tribulation or the Time of Jacob’s Distress.
I have heard a sound of terror, of dread, and there is no peace. Ask now, and see if a male can give birth. Why do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in childbirth? And why have all faces turned pale? ‘Alas! For that day is great, there is none like it; and it is the time of Jacob’s distress, but he will be saved from it. (Jer. 30: 5-7 NASB)
Most of the western world was shocked by the sudden emergence of ISIS in the spring of 2014, its lightning conquest of northern and western Iraq and the establishment of a caliphate. The question on the minds of many Christians watching for the signs of Jesus’ return has been is ISIS fulfilling prophecy?
Personally I think it is too soon to definatively say that it is. There are numerous hints that it may be however, so it warrents careful observation over the next months and years. In my upcoming book, Are We READY for Jesus? How to prepare for his return I discuss many of these factors in greater detail. The book is anticipated in early 2015.
